Fever (also known as pyrexia or controlled hyperthermia) is a common medical sign characterized by an elevation of temperature above the normal range of 36.5–37.5 °C (98–100 °F) due to an increase in the body temperature regulatory set-point. This increase in set-point triggers increased muscle tone and shivering.Clinically-documented probiotic combination developed to support the health of children. 10BCFU|5BCFUB.lactisBi-07™and5BCFUL.acidophilusNCFM.
BENEFITS:
Support of respiratory health with symptom duration shortened from 6.5to3.5days

Study Aim
To determine the effects of L. acidophilus NCFM®or L. acidophilus NCFM®in combination with B.lactisBi-07™on cold and influenza-like symptom incidence and duration in healthy children during the winter season (November to May).
Study Design
Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled
Study Method
326healthy children (3-5 years of age) were assigned randomly to receive: Placebo NCFM®10billionCFU/day NCFM®5 billionCFU+Bi-07™5 billion CFU/day Children were treated twice daily for 6 months Cold-and flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, rhinorrhea)and other symptoms were monitored for frequency and duration. The incidence of illness-related or flu-like symptoms and the number of absences from day care due to illness were recorded
Key Findings:
For children consuming NCFM®+ Bi-07™, the average symptom duration was significantly reduced by about 3 days compared to placebo (P< 0.001)
There was a significant 45%lessrisk of experiencing any symptom in the NCFM®+ Bi-07™groupcomparedto placebo(P=0.045)
Children consuming NCFM®
+ Bi-07™showed a significant reduction in fever, cough, runnynose, and antibiotic usage compared to placebo(p≤0.03)
The probiotic combination group also had significantly fewer days absent from school compared to placebo.
